The other day I was talking to a client about his Express Astrology report. He was finding it very easy to relate to most of it but there was one problem. He didn’t recognise anything about his Moon Sign.
Why is this a problem?
Well, if you can’t relate to your Moon Sign, it can only mean one thing – your Moon is hiding and you need to find it fast!
But before you go looking, let’s talk a little about what the Moon Sign signifies because that’s where we get our first clue to finding it. The Moon in our chart represents past issues and challenges that we have not yet resolved. Unresolved issues are problematic in our daily lives because they are exactly what trip us up from time to time. They’re what we automatically react to. Or in other words – they’re our habitual emotional reactions.
Let me give you an example.
If your Moon Sign is Taurus, you will tend to react around issues of stability/instability, possessions and possessiveness, your values and self-worth. That may manifest as being overly possessive within a relationship, or just protective of your possessions … and definitely not happy to lend them out to all and sundry! Or it could be a strong tendency to be stubborn in all matters. Taurus is the Fixed Earth sign so think about a mountain and how difficult it is to move that.
Now if you know that your Moon is in Taurus and you easily recognise those kinds of reactions in yourself, you can begin to work with them to overcome them. BUT if your Moon is in Taurus and you can’t relate to any Taurean reactive tendencies then you have yourself a challenge. As the old saying goes:
The first step in solving a problem is recognising there is one.
But how can you recognise something you can’t see? See the problem?!?
So before we try to change any of that, it’s helpful to get some understanding of what’s going on!
The most likely reason that your Moon is hiding is because you aren’t seeing this automatic behaviour as a reaction. Instead, you’re seeing it as completely normal. Let’s go back to the Taurus Moon to explore that a bit further.
If you are stubborn in areas of your life where it doesn’t serve you to be stubborn, you’re in reaction. However, if you think it’s normal to be that stubborn, that there’s nothing wrong with it, and that everybody else would be exactly the same in the same situation, then you’ll probably be quite surprised that others may find your stubbornness irritating. Or maybe your possessiveness. And that can get in the way of friendships, relationships, and even in your work environment.
So what did I advise my client to do, and what would I advise you to do too? First of all, if you don’t know your Moon Sign, click here to find out. Simply enter your place, date and time of birth (although time of birth isn’t required) and wait a few seconds for the report to appear (it’s completely FREE!). If you relate to the description, great! Move on to the suggestions for how to work with those reactions. If you don’t? Write those reactions down on a piece of paper and spend the next few weeks on a hunt for your Moon.
Be on the look out for the reactive behaviours it describes, ask others if they recognise them in you and write down any examples you come across of your own Moon Sign reactions. Get to know your Moon really well so you can spot it every time it appears. And once you have a clearer connection to it, then go ahead and work with it.
You may be surprised at what you find!
